Visiting Our Teak Furniture Showroom in J. P. Nagar: What to See and Ask

Photos are a good start, but solid teak is something you should see, touch and sit on before you buy. The grain, the finish, the comfort of a cushion and the weight of a well-made chair don’t come through on a screen. This guide explains how to get the most from a visit to the Teakwood Factory showroom in J. P. Nagar.

Where to find us

The showroom is at Akshaya Complex 2, Metro Pillar No. 69, near Kanakapura Main Road, J. P. Nagar, Bengaluru 560111. It’s close to the metro, and easy to reach from Jayanagar, Banashankari, Basavanagudi, BTM Layout, Bannerghatta Road and the rest of South Bengaluru. Directions are on our Visit Us page.

What to bring

• Room measurements. The length and width of the room, and the wall where the piece will go. Mark windows, doors and switchboards.
• Entry measurements. Lift door width and depth, the main door, and any tight corridor turns.
• Photos of the room. Two or three wide shots help us suggest a size and finish that suits your floor and walls.
• Your timeline. Standard designs usually take about a week; custom pieces around a month.

What to check in person

The wood and the finish

Run your hand along an armrest and under a tabletop. A good finish feels smooth everywhere, including hidden edges. Compare our four finishes (Natural, Honey, Walnut and Espresso) under the showroom lights and near a window, because the same teak looks quite different in each.

Joinery and weight

Lift one end of a chair. Solid teak is heavy. Push a frame gently from the side: well-joined furniture feels like one piece and doesn’t wobble.

Comfort

Sit on a sofa or rocking chair for a couple of minutes, the way you would at home. Check the seat depth, back height and how the cushion recovers when you stand up.
